Why ISO 800? Because I'm an idiot. Finally took that drive to the coast today hoping for some sunset images. Instead, there was a bank of fog moving in, and a stiff wind the entire afternoon. So rather than a bunch of sunsets, I ended up with coastal landscapes. Most bad. A few that I will post in the next few days. Even at ISO 800, I liked the resulting images.

UPDATE: I've updated this image with a less "jarring" sharpening applied. None at all! I like this version better too. You can still see the original image here. Thanks for the constructive criticism Alec! I could use more of it around here.

I've recently turned off comments for a variety of reasons, the biggest of which is that I haven't really had time to take many photos these days, and therefore get few comments. This means that largely, I just fight spam. You may still email me at the contact address if you wish.

While I love the subject matter, the seemingly oversharpened final image is a little jarring.

This must have been a spectacular drive. Your part of the country is a photographer's dream, I think. :)

Interesting! I didn't sharpen this one as much as my "usual" amount because I didn't like it. Perhaps I could tone it down some more. Could the noise from being at ISO 800 be part of the issue?

And yes, the entire Pacific Northwest is a photographers dream. If you're into landscapes and nature themes... :-)
